About this piece
This handwoven merino wool shawl is crafted in Kutch, Bhuj (India) by artisans from rural communities with a long-standing tradition of textile making.
At the ends of the shawl, a more densely woven patterned panel introduces layered horizontal lines in warm rust, mustard, soft cream, and deep red tones, punctuated with small geometric forms. This decorative section appears only at the ends of the shawl and is finished with long, hand-tied tassels in complementary colours. The pattern does not run around the full perimeter of the shawl.
Designed to be versatile and timeless, this shawl can be worn across seasons and styled casually or more formally, making it a piece to be worn and appreciated for years to come.
The making
Made in Kutch, Bhuj, by artisans from rural communities with a long-standing tradition of textile making. The handloom process is slow and precise. From preparing the yarn to weaving and finishing, each shawl takes approximately 8 hours to complete. Slight variations in motif placement, spacing, and weave tension are a natural result of the handmade process and are intentionally preserved as a mark of authenticity.
Material & care
100% merino wool: a fine, naturally renewable fibre that is warm without bulk and softens with wear.
- Hand wash cold with a gentle wool detergent, or dry clean
- Do not wring; press out water and dry flat away from direct heat
- Cool iron on the reverse if needed
- Store folded, with cedar or lavender; do not hang
