About this piece
This handwoven shawl is crafted in Kutch, Bhuj (India) by artisans from rural communities with a long-standing heritage of textile making.
The design combines a deep forest green base with warm mustard detailing, finished with fine woven borders and soft tassels. It is a timeless piece, designed to be worn across seasons and appreciated for its craftsmanship rather than trends.
The making
Made in Kutch, Bhuj, by artisans from rural communities with a long-standing tradition of textile making. The wool is dyed, tied by hand in hundreds of tiny knots, dyed again and only then woven, so the pattern emerges in the resist. From dyeing and hand-tying to re-dyeing and weaving, each shawl takes approximately 3-4 days to complete from start to finish. No two pieces are ever identical. Subtle variations in colour depth, pattern edges, and spacing are a natural and celebrated part of the handmade process.
Material & care
100% merino wool: a fine, naturally renewable fibre that is warm without bulk and softens with wear.
- Hand wash cold with a gentle wool detergent, or dry clean
- Do not wring; press out water and dry flat away from direct heat
- Cool iron on the reverse if needed
- Store folded, with cedar or lavender; do not hang
