This handwoven merino wool shawl is crafted in Kutch, Bhuj (India) by artisans from rural communities with a long-standing tradition of textile making.
At the ends of the shawl, a more intricate woven panel introduces layered horizontal bands and delicate geometric detailing in complementary tones. This patterned section appears only at the ends of the shawl, providing contrast and depth without overpowering the simplicity of the main body. The shawl is finished with long, hand-tied tassels in coordinating colours.
Designed to be versatile and timeless, this shawl can be worn across seasons and styled casually or layered for warmth, making it a piece to be worn and appreciated for years to come.
The making
Made in Kutch, Bhuj, by artisans from rural communities with a long-standing tradition of textile making. The handloom process is slow and precise. From preparing the yarn to weaving and finishing, each shawl takes approximately 10 hours to complete. Subtle variations in motif placement, weave tension, and colour are a natural result of the handmade process and are preserved as a mark of authenticity.
Material & care
100% merino wool: a fine, naturally renewable fibre that is warm without bulk and softens with wear.
- Hand wash cold with a gentle wool detergent, or dry clean
- Do not wring; press out water and dry flat away from direct heat
- Cool iron on the reverse if needed
- Store folded, with cedar or lavender; do not hang
