About this piece
This handwoven merino wool shawl is crafted in Kutch, Bhuj (India) by artisans from rural communities with a long-standing tradition of textile making.
At the short ends of the shawl, a detailed woven panel introduces layered horizontal striping and traditional Kutchi geometric elements in tonal reds and soft neutrals. This decorative section appears only on the short ends of the shawl and does not run around the full perimeter. The shawl is finished with hand-tied tassels in brown and cream only, with natural variations that reflect the handmade process.
Designed to be versatile and timeless, this shawl can be styled in multiple ways worn casually with everyday outfits or draped more formally for special occasions and is made to be cherished for years to come.
The making
Made in Kutch, Bhuj, by artisans from rural communities with a long-standing tradition of textile making. The handloom process is slow and precise. From preparing the yarn to weaving and finishing, each shawl takes approximately 10 hours to complete. Small variations in weave, colour, and finish are a natural result of hand craftsmanship and are preserved as a mark of authenticity.
Material & care
100% merino wool: a fine, naturally renewable fibre that is warm without bulk and softens with wear.
- Hand wash cold with a gentle wool detergent, or dry clean
- Do not wring; press out water and dry flat away from direct heat
- Cool iron on the reverse if needed
- Store folded, with cedar or lavender; do not hang
